The Barbaterre is placed at a height of 330m in the cradle of the “Mathilde’s Lands” , in a sunny and windy area. The soil is muddy and consists of average clayey lands. The vines south exposed are naturally treated following the procedures of organic farming. They have a good density of stumps per hectare and they undergo short pruning in order to find a balance between vegetation and fruits, and they get watered just by rain.
Certified as Organic ICEA IT ICA HB43
At the Barbaterre they produce organic wine only from grapes cultivated in their own vineyards. The vinification of grapes is oriented to enhance their organoleptic qualities using as instruments controlled temperatures and long times only. Their wines, which are not filtered, are bottled after and adequate ripening and a slow sedimentation in steel, or, if we refer to reserves, in French oak barrels of different capacity.
